There are currently vacancies for two paid position and two volunteer positions at Barnstondale

Centre Director

Barnstondale is entering a phase of new development and is looking to recruit an outstanding leader who will be tasked with operational management, strategy and business development. The post holder will be responsible for the development of Barnstondale’s strategy and external relationships to drive the charity’s mission.

With a strong commitment to working co-productively with existing staff, Trustees and current supporters, the post holder will identify what is already working well, what could be improved and how to implement and evaluate these improvements. This role will be key in developing a strategy for the training and development of Centre staff so as to best meet the needs of clients.

Who are we looking for?

Due to the multi-faceted nature of this post, you may bring experience from a comparable role, or you could be a specialist in business development or operational management, seeking an opportunity to further develop your career in a senior management post within the hugely rewarding charitable sector.

It is essential that you are an experienced people manager with exceptional communication, networking and problem-solving skills.

Activity Instructor:
Reporting to the Activity Co-ordinator, you will deliver a range of outdoor pursuits from team building to archery and climbing. You need lots of energy and enthusiasm for engaging with young people, to build a rapport and motivate them to reach their full potential. Experience not essential – full training provided.

Hours will be on and ad-hoc basis by prior agreement. They will vary from week to week and include some weekend work. You will earn £8.25 per hour plus holiday pay.

Staff have to be aware of their safeguarding duty in relation to the welfare and safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults – appropriate training will be given.

Job Type: Part-time
Salary: £8.25 /hour

There are also currently two vacancies for volunteers at Barnstondale.

1. Volunteer Driver for the minibus and trailer:

We are currently looking for a volunteer driver for our minibus and trailer.

For insurance purposes you must be over 25 and under 70 and hold a full, clean driving licence with minibus category D1.

A DBS check will be undertaken along with an internal assessment of driving skills.

Driving duties will be on and ad-hoc basis by prior arrangement to transport staff and visitors to and from off-site activities.

2. Volunteer Gardener:

We are currently looking for a volunteer to help with general gardening duties around Barnstondale. This will including looking after plants, grass cutting, leaf clearing and general tidying.
